Namaste,
Welcome to “The Fan Initiative”, an initiative created to honour the fans community of Lost around the world, no matter if we are people of science or faith.
We are fans of Lost, joined together because of the passion the Show awakes in us with its mysteries and theories. We have lived, suffered and quivered with its characters up to the point to identify ourselves with any moment from their lives.
That’s why we are part of Lost like any survivor of the Oceanic 815 or like any member of the Dharma Initiative. And for this reason we want our task to be recognized from the very beginning, from our first contact with Jack in that bamboo forest until one of the best shows ever finally fades in. For this reason we propose the names of all those people who have loved Lost along the past 6 years to be included in a kind of honorific credits of the 6th season DVD/BR edition.
That would mean a valuable homage to every reviewing hour, formulated theories, rejected or refused, talks, commentaries and lecture clubs.
Lost has given us too much and we have always been there, for good and bad, and for this reason we want to have our passion and dedication recognized…because we are Lost, but not forgotten.
A name changes, the World opens
“The Vandal Initiative” changes its name to “The Fan Initiative”. Why? Because the Initiative grows bigger. It has crossed boundaries and we want our message to reach the majority number of Lost fans all over the world.
The initiative appeared in a videogames forum where a group of fans built its own island, in which we have been talking about Lost during the show or not. We all shaped up the idea and the Initiative was born. We quickly got on the road and decided to get in touch with the world with a group in Facebook, a group that has increased to 1000 Spaniard people in just one week. But, not happy with that we decided to take a leap and to conquer the rest of fans’ hearts.
As a result, we have agreed to change the original name to “The Fan Initiative” where every single fan of Lost will feel at home no matter where you are from, and keeping the old name for us, the group that leads the project. We want to spread our words to the whole world and we want to get as much support as we can, because if we are joined together we will be able to get our great aim.
Thanks to everyone
From ‘The Vandal Initiative’ we want to thank all the support we have received. There are no words to explain all the gratitude we have to all that people who joined the group and make their little contribution: their comments, their photos, their videos… their little Lost moments; we want to thank to all these people who have given their support and gave us a chance to introduce us to the rest of the Lost community and threw themselves into the Initiative like Lostzilla, Lostph, Lostpedia, Serieadictos, Foreverlost, Pardillos, Llegaronparaquedarse… at national level and The ODI, DarkUFO and Lostinaflashforward at international level, not to mention our friends from ‘Cinemania’ who published us on their February number.
We are very grateful to you, for supporting us on this journey. We are really excited with the acceptance on the Lost community and the acceptance that we hope we’ll have and we wish that our proposal will be carried out because you deserve it.
Our provisional website
The Vandal Initiative have decided to create a website where our proposals can be organized and assembled and reach to the public easilier than through the Facebook group.
We’ll put all the contents and publications that our Initiative has. Each topic will be write in Spanish (mother language of the Initiative) and English to reach as far we can.
On the top, there are some tabs with the different sections of the website:
On ‘Inicio/Home’ we’ll put all the entries with important information and news about our project.
On ‘Initiative’ you can find the real intentions of our Initiative, the primary objective is to achieve that fans’ names will appear into honorary credits on season 6 DVD/BR extras.
On ‘Videos’ you can watch some videos that we, the Vandal Initiative, have created specially for the occasion, a real tribute to the series and fans.
On ‘Who are we?’ you can find information about all these people who have joined the Fan Initiative and want to appear into the honorary credits.
On ‘Who really are we?’ you can find information about members of ‘The Vandal Initiative’, a little group of people who get together into a videogames forum with a common hobby: Lost and an ambitious objective.
Anyway, on the right part of the website you can find the same tabs and buttons to join our groups in Facebook and Twitter. Moreover, we want to remember that the best way to support us at the moment is joining the Facebook group, because there we can organize people having a real number of members and share the Initiative with the world and use it as reference, as well.
That’s why we need all the support that you can give us. From ‘The Vandal Initiative’, we are preparing an “Action Plan” to make one’s name and approach step by step to our goal: the tribute and appreciation to Lost fans around the world.
Atte.
